Investigated the air pollution caused by Israeli strikes on four fuel storage sites across Tehran and Karaj. Combined atmospheric dispersion modeling (NOAA HYSPLIT), satellite imagery from Meteosat, Sentinel 3, and NASA Worldview, and geolocated eyewitness footage to reconstruct how smoke plumes moved across the city in the 12 hours following ignition, and assessed resulting tank damage at each site.

After we published this investigation, the IDF began blurring all logos on their machinery in their press releases.

 The urgency to reconstruct the Khiam Detention Center virtually stems from parallel attempts to reshape its history: by Hezbollah through its renovation, and by Israel through the erasure of its violent past. This project rebuilds the site as a navigable 3D environment, assembling testimonies and spatial evidence into a living archive. It resists the neutralization of the prison, preserving it instead as material evidence of torture and control.

Biography 

I am a researcher and an architect pursuing a PhD at TU Delft titled Weaponized Environments. My work examines how natural and built landscapes are manipulated in warfare, with a focus on documenting violence, environmental harm, and spatial destruction.

I work with geolocation, chronolocation, satellite imagery analysis, and pattern recognition to reconstruct incidents from minimal or degraded evidence. Alongside my PhD, I collaborate with human rights organizations and newsrooms on open source investigations, damage assessments, and spatial reconstructions of conflict zones.

My work has been commissioned by the BBC World Service, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Al Jazeera, New Lines Magazine, Oregon State University, and PBS NewsHour, and published in the New York Times, France 24, and NRC, among others.
